Overview
The southwest region of the United States, including Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California, shares a 2,000 mile border with Mexico. The border population suffers from a wide range of health problems, many of which are more typically found in developing countries to addresss health disparities in this region it is necessary to understand the Hispanic/Mexican-American culture of the border shape health border.
The HHDRC Regional Health Disparities Research Seminar Series was developed to exhange ideas and explore issues specifically relating to Hispanic disparities, with a focus on the US-Mexico border region. These seminars will feature leading health professionals and researchers who will share their findings and expertise that will result in achieving a better understanding of the factors affecting Hispanic health, particularly along the US-Mexico border.
